Music

Psychobillies were first derived from a blend of “1950’s Americana and 1970’s British Punk”. In 1967 a band called “The Cramps” was created which was the initial inspiration for the Psychobilly subculture. Afterwards, the Meteors were formed in the 1980’s which was an inspirational Psychobilly band.  The Psychobilly subculture was beginning to emerge in 1982 and it was imitative of the Klub Foot cult band which was located in West London. Many bands enthused the Psychobilly subculture other than the Cramps which consist of the “Stray Cats and Moorhead’s”. The Cramps were not the foundations of the Psychobilly movement, however they were a huge inspiration.
